Shanghai, the Dragon Head of China, is the most electrifying, ambitious, and visually staggering city in Asia — a megalopolis of 25 million people that has reimagined what a modern city can be and then built it at a scale that leaves every first-time visitor breathless. Standing on the Bund at night and gazing across the Huangpu River at the Pudong skyline — a forest of illuminated supertall towers that includes the Shanghai Tower, the tallest building in China — is one of the defining urban experiences on earth. Yet Shanghai is far more than its extraordinary skyline. It is a city of breathtaking duality: the gleaming glass of Pudong rises directly across the river from the elegant European-style colonial buildings of the Bund, built when Shanghai was the most cosmopolitan and decadent city in Asia. Beyond these iconic waterfronts, a thousand years of Chinese urban life survive in the winding lanes of the Old City, the canals of Zhujiajiao, and the art deco grandeur of the French Concession, where plane-tree-lined boulevards are still lined with the villas and cafés of a vanished era. For business, culture, gastronomy, fashion, and sheer urban spectacle, Shanghai has no rival in Asia — and arguably none in the world.
We’re committed to offering more than just products—we provide exceptional experiences.
Most nationalities including citizens of Jordan, Egypt, and many Arab countries require a Chinese tourist visa to enter. However, China has introduced a 144-hour (6-day) visa-free transit policy for many nationalities transiting through Shanghai — which can be a practical option for short visits. We handle complete visa guidance, application support, and documentation preparation for all our travelers.
China operates a national internet firewall that blocks Google, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and most Western social media and apps. We strongly recommend downloading and configuring a reputable VPN on all devices before arriving in China. WeChat is the essential local app for communication, payments, and navigation — we advise all travelers to set it up before travel.
Shanghai is highly cashless — most locals pay via WeChat Pay or Alipay (mobile payment apps). International credit cards are accepted at hotels, international restaurants, and shopping malls, but many local restaurants, markets, and taxis may not accept them. We advise travelers to set up WeChat Pay linked to an international card before arrival, and to carry some Chinese Yuan (RMB) as backup for smaller transactions.
Shanghai is one of the safest major cities in the world — violent crime is extremely rare and the city is very well policed. Halal food (清真 / Qingzhen) is widely available throughout Shanghai, with a significant Muslim community and many certified halal restaurants, particularly in areas around the city's historic mosques. We provide all Arab travelers with a curated halal dining guide for the city.
Shanghai is China's window to the world — the only Chinese city that combines the full force of China's extraordinary economic rise with a cosmopolitan, internationally oriented culture shaped by centuries of global trade. It has the finest dining scene in Asia, the most dramatic skyline on earth, world-class museums, a thriving arts and design scene, and a pace and ambition that is genuinely unlike anywhere else. For Arab travelers, it is the ideal introduction to China — modern, accessible, English-friendly in key areas, and endlessly spectacular.
