The Jordanian Dinar (JOD) is one of the highest-valued currencies in the Arab world. Cards are widely accepted across hotels, restaurants, and most shops in Amman. However, cash is preferred at local souqs, street food vendors, and smaller establishments. ATMs are plentiful across the city. It is advisable to carry some Dinars for day-to-day flexibility, particularly when visiting traditional markets and local cafés.
